ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday expressed anger over the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) unprofessional attitude towards carrying out investigations.

According to detail, a two-member bench of the SC heard the Modarba scandal case. During the hearing, NAB’s prosecutor said that the accused of Modarba case was involved in embezzling Rs 386 million, while adding that the bureau had already produced 36 witnesses to prove the charges against him.

In his remarks, Justice Azmat Saeed said that, “NAB made friends with one accused and arrested another one. No one can comprehend what policy they are following.” No one knows, not even us, as to who would be arrested on corruption charges, he added.

Later, after hearing all arguments made by lawyers from each side, the court had decided to reject the bail application of the accused.
