LAHORE: The rescheduled Medical and Dental College Admission Test 2017 are underway in examination centres across Punjab on Sunday.

28 centres in 13 cities of the province are administering the test. According to reports, about 41,000 female students and 24,000 male students are taking the medical entry test on Sunday.

In Bahawalpur, more than 3,500 students are attending the test.

Strict security measures are in place around the examinations centres with Section 144 imposed.

The candidates have been barred from carrying digital devices into the examination centres.

Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah had on Friday announced that intelligence officials, besides authorities concerned, will monitor the medical entry test in the province.

Sanaullah while talking to local media outlet regretted that the papers had been leaked despite the vice chancellor of University of Health Sciences Lahore being recruited on merit.

An accused was detained in Multan, after the Punjab government took the matter to the Lahore High Court (LHC) informing that the staff of University of Health Sciences had been found involved in leaking the papers for Medical and Dental College Admission Test 2017.

Subsequently, the LHC had declared the results void and demanded that a new test be administered for admissions. Thereafter, the medical entry test had been rescheduled for October 29.
