Terror bid to target seminary foiled in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Security officials on Saturday foiled a terror bid intended to target troops and students in the provincial capital.

Per details, Peshawar police officials, on receiving information, spotted an improvised explosive device (IED) placed under garbage along the wall of a seminary. Later, the bomb disposal squad reached the spot and defused the bomb effectively to prevent another terror attack from taking place in the security sensitive city.

Earlier this year, security personnel had defused a similar kind of device planted alongside the road at Aman Chowk to target a police mobile. In July, two security personnel of Frontier Constabulary (FC), including an officer, were martyred and at least seven others were wounded in a powerful blast that targeted security officials in Hayatabad area of Peshawar.
