JUI-F leader narrowly misses attempt on life in Peshawar

The provincial leader of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam-Fazl-ur-Rehman (JUI-F) Maulana Muhammad Hussain Jalali remained safe in a gun attack on the outskirts of Peshawar on Saturday.

The JUI-F leader was travelling in his car when unidentified gunmen fired shots on his vehicle.

According to police sources, Maulana Jalali remained unhurt in the attack.

Maulana Muhammad Hussain Jalali is the younger brother of JUI-F’s former senator Hussain Al Hashmi. He is also the party’s candidate from Hagu’s constituency of NA-16.

Police reached the scene of incident and have started investigation of the attack

Earlier in the day, police defused a one-kilogram explosive device found near Charsadda Road in Peshawar, preventing a major atrocity from taking place.

A terrorist belonging to a banned outfit was also arrested in the city. He was wanted by the police on the charges of carrying out terrorist activities.
