ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani on Friday expressed resentment over the absence of ministers in the House, stating that “the ministers should tender their resignations if they cannot attend the Senate proceedings”.

The chairman said that the House was informed about the illness of state minister for capital administration and development division but he was later seen addressing a rally on television.

Raza Rabbani also sternly enquired about the ministers of energy, religious affairs and housing.

“There is a large army of ministers and advisers but they do not attend the Senate meetings. If the prime minister can come to the Senate for answering queries, why can’t the ministers? asked the chairman.

“If the ministers did not change their attitude, they would be banned from entering the Senate under article-13 of the House,” the chairman warned.
