The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday issued non-bailable warrants (NBWs) for the arrest of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain and their London convener Nadeem Nusrat in the murder case of two Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) workers.
The police submitted a charge sheet (challan) with the ATC judge in the hearing conducted inside the central prison and informed the court that Muhammad Danish and Muhammad Raheem, both said to be activists of the MQM–London have been arrested in the case.
The charge sheet read that MQM founder had issued the directives for the double murder and congratulated the killers after the assassination of PSP workers, Rashid Khan alias Laal and Abdul Majeed alias Nadeem Molana.
Besides, the killers were also rewarded with Rs 50,000 by the MQM-London, the investigators maintained. The absconding accomplices included Altaf Hussain, Nadeem Nusrat, Abdur Rasheed alias Babu Bihari, Qamar aka Teddy and Asif.
While issuing the warrants, the judge directed the police to arrest the absconders and produce them before the court.
Two PSP workers Rashid and Majeed were shot dead in Orangi Town on July 17 this year. Later, MQM-London men Danish and Raheem were arrested by the Rangers that had claimed the suspects were tasked to kill the PSP workers by the MQM founder Altaf Hussain and were subsequently rewarded.
The case 167/2017 was registered at Orangi Town police station under sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
