ROME: Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir arrived in the Italian capital for a three-day visit to the European country upon invitation by Italy’s Defence Minister Roberta Pinotti.

Dastgir will hold one-to-one as well as delegation-level talks with his counterpart to deepen and widen Pak-Italy defence and strategic cooperation. During his visit, the visiting minister will interact with the defence and foreign affairs committees of the Italian Parliament.

He will also deliver an important speech on Pakistan’s role in regional stability at the NATO’s Defence College in Rome. The minister will also visit a squadron of the Italian Navy and significant defence-related manufacturers.

The Italian defence minister visited Pakistan in September 2016. Pinotti met her Pakistani counterpart along with other civil and military leadership besides his address at the National University of Science & Technology in Islamabad.
