Chawla says resources will be provided to officers to enhance their performance

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that all resources will be provided to the officers to enhance their performance so that they may do their duties in a more efficient way.

This he said while presiding over a meeting on Wednesday here in his office, said a statement.

Provincial ministry’s Secretary Abdul Haleem Shaikh, Director General Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and other officers also attended the meeting.

While briefing the meeting DG Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said that Sindh Finance Department had approved Rs18 million for the purchase of new vehicles for the ministry and the buying these mobile pickups would not only improve the performance of the department but it would also help to eradicate the activities of the drug peddlers.

Chawla added that it is a matter of satisfaction that despite limited resources the ministry has done very well. He asked the officers to concentrate on eradication of the drug peddlers as well as recovery of the taxes.

He also assured them that all possible efforts would be taken to provide them with better facilities and monitoring system would be made more effective to check the performance of the officers.
