GILGIT: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated that federal government will continue to extend cooperation for the equal development of all areas in the country including Gilgit-Baltistan.
Addressing the meeting of Gilgit Baltistan council in Skardu on Wednesday, Abbasi said that Gilgit Baltistan will greatly benefit from China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project and these benefits would continue for centuries.
He said that the ruling government is the first to have practically started work on Diamer Basha Dam.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said it was a matter of great satisfaction that the democratic process was moving forward in Gilgit Baltistan.
He said there is wide scope for the motion of tourism and economic activities in the area adding that the people of Pakistan have great love for their GB brethren.
Meanwhile, during the meeting of Gilgit Baltistan council, the budget for the year 2017-18 has been approved.
GB Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman, Gilgit-Baltistan Governor Ghazanfer Ali Khan, Federal Minister for Kashmir and GB Affairs Birjees Tahir and members of GB Council attended the meeting.
