ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani on Tuesday asked the Minister for Law and Justice Zahid Hamid to ask the Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif to be present in the House on October 25 and take the Parliament into confidence about the visit of US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
According to media reports, he said that the US secretary of state gave a statement in Kabul which reflects placing of some possible restrictions in future for Pakistan. He was of the views that the tone adopted by the US secretary seemed not right.
The chairman also said that the response given by the Senate on August 30 through a report should be conveyed to the US secretary.
Raza Rabbani also said the House should be informed about the conditions placed by the US diplomat before visiting Pakistan.
Earlier, the chairman also referred a privilege motion of PTI Senator Azam Khan Swati to the Privilege Committee, about his grievances over the attitude of a PWD official.
