Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) Abul Khair faction General Secretary Pir Mehfooz Mashhadi along with others has announced to leave their group and join JUP-Noorani.
Faction’s secretary information Muhammad Khan Leghari and Pir Akram Shah are also among them. This was announced at a press conference here on Monday. JUP-Noorani central president Pir Ijaz Hashmi, Shah Awais Noorani, Jawaid Awan and other leaders of the party were present on the occasion.
Ijaz Hashmi welcomed the new entrants and said doors of the party were open for all those who wanted to join it. He said personalities like Pir Mehfooz were a political asset and their joining would strengthen the party.
He said his party was working for making an alliance of the religio-political parties in the country with a mission to enforce Islamic law in the country.
He said, “All members and leaders of different groups of JUP and other religious and political parties are welcome to join his party and work for advancing mission of late Shah Ahmed Noorani”.
Mehfooz Mashhadi said he and his followers did their best to merge Abul Khair faction into main JUP but after their failure they decided to leave the faction and joined the main party.
