PFA seizes large quantity of gutka in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Tuesday seized huge quantity of gutka from a storage facility located in Gunj Mandi area.

Per details, PFA Director Operations Bilawal Abro said that the authority’s team, along with police personnel, raided Bajaur Plaza in Gunj Mandi locality of the city. During the operation, over 500,000 packets of gutka were recovered from a storage facility.

Abro said that the recovered gutka was smuggled from another province and was being supplied to other cities of the country via Rawalpindi.

Abro said also said that the operation against gutka would continue under the ‘Gutka Free Punjab Mission’. The recovered stock was later disposed of by police.
