Every resource being utilised to secure future of children: CM

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the World Polio Day provides an opportunity to reiterate the commitment of working with utmost zeal and vigor to eradicate this disease from the country.

In his message on the World Polio Day, the chief minister said that a polio-free Pakistan is our important mission and added that every sort of resource is being materialised to provide a safe and secure future to our children. Punjab government is running a composite awareness campaign to further strengthen the efforts of polio eradication, he said. The role of Punjab is very important in the eradication of polio from the country and its complete elimination from the motherland is an important priority of the government, he said.

He said that the government is taking all possible steps to make Pakistan a polio-free country in the region. It is sanguine that Punjab government is working day and night with full commitment to overcome the polio menace. He said that children can be saved from this fatal disease by timely vaccination and added that it is the collective responsibility of the society to take effective measures in this regard. All the institutions of public importance must play their role to make the anti-polio efforts a success.
