Samlan Mujahid Baloch, a former member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, alleged on Sunday that several party leaders including Farooq Sattar are in touch with MQM founder Altaf Hussain, implying that the series of allegations between the two sides was just a show-off.
Talking to a private news channel, the former MQM-P leader revealed that MQM-P chief Farooq Sattar and other leaders had congratulated the party founder on his birthday via telephone and cut a cake as well.
Baloch, whom the party expelled from its ranks on Friday, said the MQM[-P] is in control of District Municipal Corporations (DMCs) and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), adding that they would make money and go abroad.
He noted the MQM-P chief has been saying in the past that he is “under pressure” and will have to go towards a merger or an alliance with Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP).
“Sattar may call on PSP leaders, but why does he not tell the people,” the former MQM-P leader questioned.
While he further said that a few of the MQM-P leaders are only pretending to have had a fallout with the London-based party founder, a few have actually stood up against him.
