ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry on Monday stated that the disqualification case against party leaders Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen has almost concluded.
He stated this while talking to media outside the Supreme Court, adding that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi’s counsel Akram Sheikh tried to provoke the judges during the court’s proceedings on Monday but they showed restraint.
“Sheikh has now asked for two more days to respond,” said Chaudhry, adding that the PML-N is now resorting to delaying tactics since the case has almost concluded.
He went onto to add that Abbasi can be arrested if he submits a false document in the court.
Responding to a question, Chaudhry said Imran does not fear disqualification.
On the other hand, PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi while talking to the media later stated that Imran and Tareen keep changing their stance in the case.
He also condemned PTI for submitting documents when the case has been nearly concluded.
“We are asking for accountability of money stolen from charity,” he said further.
Addressing the media later, Privatisation Minister Daniyal Aziz claimed that Imran knows he is a thief.
He added that after Tahirul Qadri raised the slogan of “save the state not politics”, the government functioning has been disrupted.
