LAHORE: A petition was filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday against the Punjab government in the Rs 80 billion companies scam case.
The petition was filed by Advocate Azhar Siddique. The petitioner requested the high court to halt officials from working till the case is taken to its logical end. The petitioner also requested the court to direct the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to move against the scam.
A private channel has claimed that it unearthed mammoth irregularities worth over Rs80 bn in financial matters of 56 companies formed by the Punjab government.
As per reports, the Punjab govt had constituted 56 companies under the guise of good governance and registered them under the Article-42 of Companies Ordinance 1984.
