Several policemen injured in Quetta IED blast

QUETTA: Several policemen were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Hazarganji area of Quetta on Monday morning.

According to details, the vehicle was on routine patrol when it was attacked; several were reported injured in the blast, however, no loss of life has been reported as of yet.

Bomb disposal squad said the explosive material was planted near the gate of Sabzimandi, adding the blast was so immense that the police vehicle was completely destroyed.

Subsequently, police and FC personnel cordoned off the area and security personnel had started collecting evidence and investigation; while injured were also shifted to a nearby hospital.

Last week, another police vehicle was targetted in Quetta which resulted in the death of eight people, including 7 police officers.
