LONDON: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider on Sunday stated that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif cannot be replaced and claimed that the party stands untied under his leadership.

He stated this while addressing a press conference here, adding that an organised  campaign is underway to fragment  Pakistan Muslim League-N into many factions but he claimed no such efforts have either succeeded nor will they succeed in the future.

He went on to add that PMLN leaders and workers are aware of this conspiracy against the party and are also aware that it is detrimental to Pakistan’s interests.

He said: “There is only one leader of PML-N and that’s Nawaz Sharif. Anyone who disassociates himself from him and lets him down will have no future. Anyone who deserts Nawaz Sharif will not be able to hold his head high and gain trust of the voters. There’s no future for anyone who leaves Nawaz.”

Haider warned that Pakistan has paid a heavy price for the mistakes made in its 70 years istory. “We paid a heavy price in 1971. Such tactics don’t work anymore, anyone who think that he will succeed through such tricks against Nawaz Sharif should learn lessons from history and not repeat mistakes which are destined to fail.”

Haider stated that he had accompanied Nawaz Sharif on GT Road from Islamabad to Lahore and he himself is a witness to the  love and affection the Pakistani nation  have for him. “Anyone who leaves him at this time will end up with humiliation,” added the AJK PM.

Raja Farooq Haider regretted that a few social media activists had been taken into custody by the FIA for using their right of freedom of speech.  He went on to add that people in violation of laws should be penalized as per law, however there should be no discrimination and bias towards any one group.  He criticised the kidnapping of the activists reasoning that the  freedom of expression is a fundamental human right.

He said such actions will bring a bad name for the country internationally. “This is against the interests of Pakistan,” he concluded.
