Man fined for driving car bearing ‘Kiu Nikala Mujhey’ registration plate in Lahore

LAHORE: A man was fined Rs 300 when the traffic police caught him driving a car bearing a non-standard registration plate bearing slogan  ‘Kiu Nikala Mujhey’ (Why was I ousted) in Lahore on Saturday.

The car owner Abrar Ahmed was in violation of code-24 of traffic laws, therefore, Warden Mudasir Iqbal removed the number plate from the vehicle and handed him a challan of Rs300 in Township area of the city reasoning that the vehicle bore a non standard registration plate.

A large crowd gathered where the incident took place and chanted the slogan ‘Kiu Nikala Mujhey’.

‘Kiu Nikala Mujhey’ (Why was I ousted) was a frequently used slogan by ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif used during his public campaign in protest of the  July 28 court verdict in the Panama Papers case that disqualified him as the prime minister.

The rival political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership have repeatedly used the slogan to take a jibe at the ousted PM.
