Bomb blast in Lower Dir injures one, damages shops

DIR: At least one person has been injured and four shops were damaged on Sunday when a bomb exploded at a shopping market in Lower Dir, police said.

SHO Chakdara police station Ayub Khan told Pakistan Today that the blast occurred at Sapna Market, a known spot for women and children garments and cosmetics. Police told that most of the shops were closed as it was Sunday, adding that it was prayer time when the blast happened due to which casualties were near to none.

The injured person was rushed to the nearby District Headquarters Hospital, where he is said to be in a stable condition.

Police official said that reasons behind the blast could not be ascertained. However, the police have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. So far, they have arrested six suspicious individuals, he added.

No group has claimed responsibility for it.

It is pertinent to mention here that in the recent days, terrorists have carried out many attacks in different parts of Malakand division.
