LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President and former prime minister Chaudhry Shujat Hussain has been unanimously elected as chairman of Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF), Shafay Hussain as president while Chaudhry Sarwar as secretary-general.
PKF Electoral General Council meeting was held here on Saturday, with Shujat Hussain in the chair, which was fully participated by federation’s office-bearers and members.
The meeting was participated by Pakistan Army, Navy, Air Force, Railways, Police, SNGPL, WAPDA, HEC, Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan and Azad Kashmir kabaddi federations’ office-bearers, and also by Pakistan Olympics Secretary General Muhammad Khalid Mahmud.
On the occasion, Muhammad Khalid Mahmud said that it is a matter of great honour that Shujat Hussain has accepted the office of the PKF chairman.
Expressing gratitude to all members of the council for this honour, Chaudhry Shujat Hussain said that all members of the council, affiliated bodies of the federation and their office-bearers are striving for the promotion of this sports not only in Pakistan but also internationally. He further added that promotion of sports is a proof of peaceful Pakistan.
