JI chief says 210 million Pakistanis want system based on Quran

VEHARI: Jamaat e Islami (JI) chief Senator Sirajul Haq on Friday said that “210 million people of the country wanted the system given by the Holy Quran and the Sunnah, but the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) were the biggest hurdles in achieving that.

Addressing a big public meeting at Machiwal in Vehari district on Friday, he said Nawaz Sharif has betrayed the Pakistan ideology and violated the supremacy of the Constitution.

Calling for across the board accountability of the corrupt, the JI chief demanded a trial of the people involved in mega scandals and the people named in the Panama Leaks. He said it was mainly due to the corruption that the general public was deprived of the basic facilities of life, especially education and health.

The JI chief further said that around 20 million children did not have primary education facilities and were compelled to work in hotels and workshops.

On the other hand, the scions of the rulers were studying abroad and the elite got treatment in the hospitals of London, Paris and New York. He said that there had been several incidents of childbirth on the roadside in the recent months which spoke of the poor health facilities in the country.
