LAHORE: The second international conference on the business and management perspective in the Asian context, that is jointly organised by Lahore Business School (LBS), the University of Lahore (UOL) and the Society for Asian Management Research (SAMR), was inaugurated on October 19, 2017. The conference has aimed to bring together leading academicians, research scholars and practitioners from Asia and other regions across the globe for integrative knowledge exchange. The objective of the conference is to facilitate relationship building through scientific discourse and research collaborations in an ever-changing business and industry vista.
The inaugural session of the conference was addressed by Punjab Higher Education Commission Chairperson Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin as a chief guest. He maintained that the purpose of the conference was to aware the society. He said that we were experiencing a lot of problems in economic sector and without focusing on social issues we could not progress effectively. He said the research work should also be for the betterment of the society.
Dr Nizamuddin stated, “I am very impressed and grateful to the UOL and LBS management and faculty for organising the 2nd International business conference and gather the people from all over the world.” He said that the business conference would not only identify the problems but also give the solutions. He added that we had to produce quality education, so we might be able to produce innovators and entrepreneurs. He maintained that we should also focus to deliver the latest education among the students and for this purpose we had already started the academy program for faculties.
He said that there was no other university in Pakistan who was offering such a lot of degree programs. He added that he was really surprised after hearing that there were more than 2,500 faculty members and similarly more than 35 thousand students studying in different programmes. He further said that he had heard a lot about the university but after visiting here he was jubilant to see the facilities and faculties. He concluded, “UOL Chairman Awais Raoof is leading the great team which is why in such a short time he got so much success.”
Earlier, the conference started off with an introductory note of UOL Chairman Awais Raoof. He said that he was very pleased and thankful to the local and international universities for contributing in the conference. He also expressed his gratitude to the foreigners that they visited the UOL. He also appreciated the efforts of the faculty members of UOL, Lahore Business School to make this event happened and said thanks to Punjab HEC Chairman Dr Nizam.
