LAHORE: The Department for International Development (DFID)’s representative in Punjab Ruth Graham called on central leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and National Assembly member Hamza Shehbaz here in Lahore in which both exchanged views on mutual interest.
In his talk, Hamza Shahbaz appreciated bilateral relations between Pakistan and United Kingdom and expressed hope that in the coming days these ties would be further strengthened. He said that with the cooperation of DFID, many projects have been launched in Health and Education Sectors of Punjab which were reflecting positive results as well.
He further said that in Punjab, Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken personal interest in bringing reforms in the Health and Education Sectors and a number of mega projects have been initiated. He lauded the projects launched by DFID for skill development and vocational education and called it more beneficial for the young generation. He said that there is always room for bringing improvement but the present government is working in the right direction and many issues including load-shedding would be solved by 2018.
DFID representative in Punjab Ruth Graham informed Hamza Shehbaz about different projects already in progress in Punjab. She said that the vision of Shehbaz Sharif is very clear as he wants to bring sustainable and equal development in the province. She exchanged views on different matters and expressed his interest in the developmental projects of Punjab government.
