ISLAMABAD: At least four suspects were arrested in a joint operation conducted by the federal police, Rangers and intelligence agencies in the federal capital, while illegal weapons, bullets and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the nabbed accused.
According to sources, the house-to-house search was carried out in Dhernala and Keena Talhar areas of the city.
During the search operation law enforcement agencies searched 95 houses and checked 175 suspected people, after which they recovered two twelve round rifles, two pistols and ammunition.
Islamabad Senior Superintendent of Police Sajid Kiyani said that the purpose of the search operation was just to maintain the law and order situation. Kiyani said that such operations were conducted on the tip of intelligence agencies and with the help of Rangers.
The arrested suspects have been shifted to respective police stations where investigation were underway.
