Criticism of national institutions helping anti-state elements: Fazl

CHINIOT: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman has claimed that anti-Pakistan elements are taking advantage of criticism levelled against the national institutions.

Talking to journalists on Friday, he said that the JUI-F was in favour of accountability but that should be free of fear and favour. We can’t support accountability aimed to target any person or political party, he said in an allusion to accountability cases against the Sharif family.

Calling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief ‘Drama Khan’, Fazl said he does not even like to talk about Imran Khan and also called him a proclaimed offender. He said that everyone was aware of his allies’ credibility and the elements surrounding him.

Fazl said that Imran had failed to provide a money trail, adding that due to this failure, he was avoiding to appear before the court.

On the issue of finality of Prophethood, the JUI-F chief stated that all political parties were in consensus over the issue of the Khatm-e-Nabuwat and were not ready for any compromise in this regard.
