One terrorist killed in encounter at Malir

KARACHI: One militant was killed and two managed to flee in an encounter with Rangers in Memon Goth area of Malir.

According to a spokesman of Sindh Rangers, an exchange of fire took place between Rangers and militants in the morning in which terrorists tried to escape under the cover of fire. Consequently, one terrorist was killed and two managed to escape.

According to the spokesman, the killed terrorist was Ghafoor Choto who was the commander of Lyari Gang War. He was the close associate of Lyari Gangwar commander Noor Mohammad alias Baba Ladala and Rehman Dacoit. He was wanted in more than 25 criminal cases including the killing of three foreigners in the Hub area in 2006. The accused was also involved in attacks on police, injuring many policemen, extortion of money, drugs peddling and ransom for kidnapping.

One SMG, 1 9mm pistol, 1 hand grenade and other ammunition were recovered from his possession.
