- Gen Bajwa commends role of Army Medical Corps in saving lives
RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Army Medical Centre, Abbottabad, Thursday in connection with installation ceremony of Colonel Commandant of Army Medical Corps and Commanding Officers’ Conference.
Lt Gen Zahid Hamid, Surgeon General of Pakistan Army, was installed as Colonel Commandant of Army Medical Corps.
The outgoing Colonel Commandant Lt Gen Asif Mumtaz Sukhera serving/retired officers and soldiers of Army Medical Corps were also present on the occasion.
Later, while interacting with the commanding officers and soldiers of Army Medical Corps, the COAS appreciated contributions and service of doctors and paramedic staff in providing quality healthcare to Pakistan Army, as well as common citizens.
He particularly lauded the role of Army Medical Corps in saving valuable lives in the war against terrorism.
Earlier, upon his arrival, COAS laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha.
