MASTUNG: At least 35 people were injured in two grenade attacks in Balochistan’s Mastung district and Gwadar on Thursday evening, police officials said.
According to police officials, unidentified assailants riding on a motorbike hurled a hand grenade near a mobile market at Safar Khan Chowk and fled away.
Four shops and two vehicles were partially damaged in the explosion.
Rescue teams immediately rushed to the area and shifted the injured to two local hospitals.
The injured – identified as Samiullah, Abdul Aziz, Faraz Ahmed, Saidullah, Muhammad Din, Nisar Ahmed, Hussain Bukhsh, Zubair Ahmed, Ali Haider, Lal Muhammad, Imran, Faiz Muhammad, Shuaib Ahmed, Abdul Qadir and Khalil Ahmed – were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Mastung. Of them, two were shifted to Quetta in view of their critical condition.
A large contingent of police and Frontier Corps also reached the vicinity, and launched a search operation for miscreants.
20 INJURED IN GWADAR:
At least 20 people were injured when unidentified miscreants lobbed a hand grenade at a roadside hotel located on Airport Road, Gwadar.
Police officials said the assailants fled the crime scene on their motorcycles after committing the crime.
Most of the injured were labourers from Sindh and Punjab who were having their dinner when the attack took place.
The injured were rushed to DHQ Gwadar for treatment.
According to the hospital sources, three critical injured were shifted to Karachi for further treatment.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attacks.
