LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday congratulated the Hindu community on their festival of Diwali and said that this festival promotes a sense of service along with infusing sentiments of unity and cohesion in the people.
“Diwali creates the passions of brotherhood and goodwill among the people and this festival of the Hindu community is also a symbol of happiness and passions,” he added.
In his message on Diwali, he said that the Hindu community had played an important role in the process of national development and their contribution in different sectors of life, including socio-economic and political sectors, was commendable.
He said the people of different faiths were equal citizens of Pakistan and all the religious minorities enjoyed equal rights under the Constitution of the country.
