ISLAMABAD: The police officer, who was slapped by AAG Khawar Ikram Bhatti during the appearance of Maryam Nawaz and her husband Captain (r) Safdar in the accountability court, forgave AAG Ikram Bhatti on Wednesday.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry and Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division Tariq Fazal Chaudhry played a key role in the reconciliation between the police and lawyers.
Earlier, Khawar Ikram Bhatti was removed as Punjab’s additional advocate general on the pretext of a striking a senior police official, when the police stopped the pro-Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawyers from entering the court premises.
Earlier, Additional Attorney General Naseer Bhutta had also resigned over the sacking of the AAG.
i. Did the arrogant/violent AAG appologise to the concerned police officer or did the ‘reconciliation’ cum forgiveness take place under duress?
ii. Would the AAG et al have looked for a ‘reconciliation’ had the AAG not be sacked?
iii. Why did AAG Naseer Bhutta resign at the sacking of his ill-mannered/arrogant colleague? Does he condone his colleague’s action? If he does, is he qualified to hold the office he holds in the justice system?
