LAHORE: PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz has said that she does not own any media cell presently and has denied the reports that five members of her alleged media cell have been arrested.
While talking to a local media outlet, she said she wasn’t aware of any such reports in circulation.
Earlier, the Online news agency reported that five members of the media cell had been taken into custody from Lahore for allegedly launching a malicious campaign against state institutions.
Referring to media reports, the agency further claimed that Maryam Nawaz had set up a media cell in Pakistan — allegedly involved in a mudslinging campaign against state institutions— which she later shifted to Dubai.
The arrested suspects admitted to their crimes before the police and confessed that they reported directly to Maryam Nawaz about the campaign.
At least 26 more members of the alleged media cell have been identified in this regard and they would be arrested soon, the report added.
