A Pakistani engineer has been missing in Afghanistan for the past two months, a private news channel has reported.
Malik Faiz Ahmed, a resident of Rawalpindi, was reportedly kidnapped in Afghanistan two months ago, the outlet reported, citing his family.
He was a construction engineer and was residing in Afghanistan since April 2016.
A video has surfaced showing Malik Faiz being severely tortured by his kidnappers. His son, Farhan Ahmed, has urged the federal and provincial government to help release his elderly father from captivity. He has also filed an application in the Islamabad High Court over the kidnapping of his father.
The kidnappers are demanding a ransom of ten million rupees, and have threatened to kill him if the amount is not paid. No effort has been made by the construction company which employed Malik Faiz to secure his release.
