Bullet-proof car’s maintenance and petrol: Audit report suggests recovery of Rs4m from former CJP

Auditor General of Pakistan in his report to National Assembly speaker has suggested that an amount of Rs 4 million should be recovered from former chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry.

The amount has been incurred on the repair and petrol of bullet-proof vehicle. The government has given him facilities against the court decision. Bullet-proof vehicle No GD 0341 was given to Iftikhar Chaudhry and Rs 4 million incurred on the repair and petrol of the vehicle were received from the government.

Audit officials in their report suggest that former CJP has violated the law of the land and Rs 4 million received from the government. They said recovery of this amount was essential to make sure the rule of law in the country.
