57th Urs of saint Anwar Shah starts




Ghotki Deputy Commissioner Syed Aijaz Shah inaugurated the 57th annual Urs of sufi saint Syed Anwar Ali Shah Bukhari at his tomb here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner said that the message of love, peace and tolerance spread by sufi saints could help in rooting out hatred and ill-will from the society. He said that in future the Urs celebrations would be held on a grand scale to spread the message of Syed Anwar Ali Shah Bukhari throughout the country.

Earlier, Urs committee convener, welcoming the participants, praised efforts of DC Syed Aijaz Shah for paying proper attention to development works being carried out at the shrine.

Later, a Mehfil-e-Samaa was held in which local singers enthralled the audience. Besides local people, a large number of devotees across Sindh, particularly the northern Sindh attended the celebration.
