Teenage girl gang-raped for refusing ‘friendship offer’

GUJRANWALA: A sixteen-year-old girl was gang-raped in Gujranwala for reportedly turning down a ‘friendship offer’.

The police have arrested the prime accused named Qadeer Shah from his residence in Shahdara, Lahore, while hunt for others is underway.

According to an FIR registered by victim’s mother with Gujranwala Police, the girl, who is a student of tenth grade, was alone at home when four persons, including Qadeer Shah, Majid and three others forcefully entered the house and raped the girl turn by turn.

Her mother told the police, “I went out of my house for some chores in the morning at 6:30am, leaving my daughter alone at home and came back at around 2pm when I saw Qadeer, son of Farid Khan, Majid and three others coming out of my house”.

“I entered my house and found my daughter injured, and she informed me that these men had raped her,” the applicant said in FIR, adding, “I took my daughter to Civil Hospital for treatment”.

She asked the police to take legal action against the accused persons. The police have arrested the main suspect during a raid.

It is also surfaced that Qadeer wanted to make friends with the victim girl and, angered by her refusal, decided to rape her.
