ISLAMABAD: A three-day anti-polio campaign will begin in selected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Balochistan and FATA on Monday.
According to reports, KP Health Directorate said that the campaign will be launched in six districts of KP including Lakki Marwat, DI Khan, Karak, Tank, Bannu and Hangu. In FATA, the campaign will be launched in South Waziristan Agency and frontier regions.
During the campaign, more than one million children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio drops. Special security measures have been taken to avoid any untoward incident during the campaign.
In Balochistan, a three-day anti-polio vaccination drive will also be started in ten districts including the provincial metropolis Quetta on Monday.
Polio Emergency Operation Centre Provincial Coordinator Syed Faisal Ahmed told that the drive will be launched in Quetta, Barkhan, Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, Qilla Saifullah, Loralai, Zhob, Dera Bugti, Kohlu and Sherani districts.
