KARACHI: An emergency was imposed across various hospitals in Karachi after the temperature soared unexpectedly high on Saturday.
According to climate experts, the city will stay hot for the next four days and the temperature will most likely reach 40 degrees Celsius.
The emergency was imposed across various hospitals in the city and staff members were directed to cancel their holidays and report for duty. The measures were taken by authorities keeping in mind the possibility of a heat-wave about to hit the city.
According to the weather forecast for the next 24 hours available on the Met Department’s official website, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. “However, rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan,” read the forecast.
