LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch has said that the unlawful facilities being extended by the federal and the Punjab government to the ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, during the proceedings of the Sharif family’s cases before the NAB courts, could prove to be highly detrimental to the democratic system.
Addressing a workers convention on Friday, he further said that the government had admitted its blunder on the issue of the oath concerning Khatam-e-Nabuwat, but it remained to be ascertained who it was behind the conspiracy.
The JI secretary general said that the dialogue between the Pakistani government and the US authorities should continue but it was high time that the government, the parliament and the state institutions agreed on a foreign policy so that the country could begin its journey as an independent and sovereign state.
