RAWALPINDI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry on Friday paid a farewell visit to Rawalpindi NAB office.
During the visit, the chairman of the top anti-graft body in the country was given a briefing on the performance of the bureau’s Rawalpindi office. Chaudhry was also accompanied by NAB deputy chairman and General Operations director.
Upon reaching the NAB office, the chairman was given a guard of honour, after which he addressed the officers of the bureau. Chaudhry is set to retire as NAB chairman on October 10. He had already paid farewell visits to Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Sukkur, Karachi and Lahore.
It is important to mention here that opposition leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah and the Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have met several times to hold consultations, which is mandatory per law, over appointment of a new NAB chairman.
On Friday, the opposition leader held another meeting with the PM in connection to this issue, which lasted for an hour. Following the meeting, Shah said that the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and hoped that they would soon agree on a name for the important post.
