NAB presents report on references against Sharif family, Dar to supervising judge

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has presented a progress report on the references against Sharif family and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to Supervisory Judge Justice Ijazul Ahsan.

The report made a mention of the progress of proceedings made against Nawaz Sharif, his children and Ishaq Dar. The report also included an order sheet of the bureau’s proceedings of the current week.

The report included issuance of non-bailable warrants of Nawaz Sharif, his sons Hasan and Hussain, and Captain (retd) Safdar, as well as a bailable warrant of Maryam Nawaz.

It is worth mentioning here that upon the directive of Supreme Court, different references have been issued against former PM Nawaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar, Hasan and Hussain, and Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Safdar. NAB proceedings on these references are currently in progress.

Nawaz and Dar have already appeared in the NAB court, whereas other accused are abroad and they have been advised to appear before the court on October 9.

NAB—which submits a weekly progress report on Friday to the monitoring judge—is bound to announce the final verdict on these references within six months.
