ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain said on Friday that educational institutions play a crucial role in developing human resources and overall economic development of a country.
He said this while talking to Ripah International University Chancellor Hasan Muhammad Khan and Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Anis Ahmad.
The president said that women constituted about half of the country’s population and stressed the need to invest on their secondary and higher education pursuits. He appreciated the establishment of Women Institute of Science and Humanities at Riphah International University.
Mamnoon expressed satisfaction over the standard of higher education in the country and said that major improvement had taken place on the educational front since the past few years.
