Drug dens are operating freely in the hometown of Bhutto leaders in violation of recent directives issued by the Sindh IGP.

According to collected figures, two heroin, four hashish, a cannabis and opium, and five wine dens are operating in Naudero under the nose of local police from where they collect fixed handsome amount of money weekly. It is alleged they collect Rs 8,000 from two dens of heroin, Rs 10,000 from four dens of hashish, cannabis and opium and Rs 15,000 from five dens of wine weekly and in this way Rs 33,000 are earned weekly without lawful authority, destroying future of young people.

These eleven intoxication dens have ruined the education and health of the addicts who are mostly very poor. The resort to criminal activities for fulfillment of their habits. Wine is freely used during marriage ceremonies where cops are also invited and heroin addicts resort to thefts of their own household material to accomplish their daily addiction or else they commit crimes to get money to buy the contraband.

It is irony that social welfare, political, literary and religious organisations have adopted criminal silence over these social evils which has ruined future of young people who are already undergoing unemployment & price hike. The residents have urged IGP AD Khowaja to take notice of the police failure to curb selling and spreading of narcotics in Naudero and order an inquiry against the relevant SHO.
