Sheikh Rasheed threatens to resign if demands not met

ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League (AML) Chairman Sheikh Rasheed on Thursday threatened again to resign if the government failed to fulfil his and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) demands regarding the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the interim government and the Electoral Reforms Act 2017.

He said that the AML and PTI would start a campaign against ECP, interim government and the electoral act. He added that him, and the members of the PTI, would also tender resignations.

He further stated that the electoral reforms act adopted by the Parliament to re-elect Nawaz Sharif as party president was not acceptable, and also warned that the AML and PTI would not sit silently if the required changes were not made in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) laws as well.
