Naval chief pays farewell call on Dastgir, Rana Tanveer

 ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI: Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah paid a farewell call on Federal Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir at the Ministry of Defence, according to a statement issued on Wednesday.

The minister lauded the services rendered by the outgoing naval chief for the defence of the motherland during his long meritorious career, including the eventful tenure commanding the Pakistan Navy.

The minister also appreciated the contributions made by Admiral Zakaullah for strengthening and modernising the defence and combat capabilities of the Pakistan Navy.

He said the government was taking all necessary measures to strengthen and enhance the capability of its armed forces for effectively coping with prevailing challenges and ensuring the foolproof defence of the national frontiers extended up to Pakistan’s exclusive economic zone and the continental shelf in the Arabian Sea.

Moreover, Admiral Zakaullah also called on Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain at his office in Rawalpindi. Rana Tanveer warmly welcomed the Admiral Zakaullah and lauded his contribution to the national defence and his services rendered to the nation.

During the tenure of Admiral Zakaullah, Pakistan Navy has greatly progressed, the minister said and wished him good luck.

The minister said that the government is taking out all necessary measures to strengthen and enhance the capability of the armed forces.
