ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday expressed profound grief over the death of former Iraqi president Jalal Talabani.

In a condolence message issued by the party secretariat, he said that Talabani’s vision and practical political work to foster national unity in his war-torn country holds important lessons for the leaders of many countries beset with threats to national unity.

“As a person, Jalal Talabani was kind and affectionate who exuded warmth and sincerity that instantly connected him with his interlocutors,” Zardari said.

Asif Zardari prayed to Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
