RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Tuesday successfully raided a factory manufacturing substandard spices and recovered 4,800 kilogrammes of adulterated spices from the premises.

According to North Director Operations Bilawal Abro, the PFA on the directive of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, was trying to ensure supply of healthy and quality food items to the people.

Abro said that the PFA after receiving information from its vigilance cell conducted a raid on Madina factory, which was being run illegally in Gunjmandi area, and seized 2,000 kg low quality red chilli powder and 2,800 kg adulterated spices.

Abro further said that a large amount of textile colours and other items were also recovered from the factory’s premises which were being mixed with the spices.
