KADDB Jordan chairman calls on defence production minister

RAWALPINDI: King Abdullah Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) Jordan Chairman Engineer Atef Ahmed Tell, along with a delegation, called on Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain on Tuesday.

Talking to the delegation, the minister said that bilateral relations between the two countries had been historically very special and were nurtured in a climate of complete trust. He said both Pakistan and Jordan valued the close relationship developed by the two countries over the years. The minister also expressed satisfaction over the ongoing defence details that have forged solid brotherly ties between the two countries.

The minister appreciated the signing of a successful contract of 13 F-16 aircrafts between both the countries in 2014. He also informed the delegation about the specifications of JF-17 aircraft and said that it could add more capability to the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF).

Furthermore, the defence minister offered the delegation to look in to various products manufactured by Heavy Industries Taxila, including APC Saad, security vehicles Mohafiz, Discrete Armored Mohafiz and bulletproof jackets.

He told the delegation that the Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works could render training facilities to personnel of Royal Jordanian Navy Dockyard (RJNF) in shipbuilding technology under the supervision of its experienced staff.

Moreover, the minister also invited the delegation to participate in International Defence Exhibition and Seminar 2018 to further learn about military equipment produced indigenously.

Later, Tell thanked the defence minister for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation. He also commended defence relations between both the countries, especially in exchange training exercises, and expressed gratitude for being offered Pakistani defence products.
