The teaser trailer of Mahira’s new movie, Verna is finally out and it looks ‘ferocious’ if that’s the right word for it.

Mahira just put up the teaser trailer for her upcoming movie on Twitter– in which she seems keen on taking revenge. The background song Power Di Game is quite fitting as well. The song, sung by Islamabad based rapper Xploymer Dar, is said to have a strong message in it.

Needless to mention, the fans are already in love with the teaser. Here’s what some of them had to say about the upcoming film.

Verna is written, produced and directed by Shoaib Mansoor, known for his highly acclaimed films Khuda Kay Liye and Bol. Mansoor is known for introducing new faces in his movies. He introduced Mahira Khan and Atif Aslam in Bol, Fawad Khan and Eman Ali in Khuda Kay Liye, and this time he will be introducing Coke Studio sensation Haroon Shahid, who has sung hit songs like Baliye, Tum Kaho and Koi Labda, in Verna. Shahid will be starring opposite Khan while the rest of the cast includes Zarrar Khan, Naimal Khawar, and Rasheed Naz.

The first video look of Power Di Game, a rap track sung by the Islamabad based musician Xpolymer Dar, was released recently. It is a powerful track which will surely give you goosebumps. The lyrics of the song are written by Shoaib Mansoor and gives out a strong message.

Mansoor stated, “I believe in meaningful cinema. The subject of all my films are very close to my heart and Verna is no different. It is my ongoing effort to educate both men and women… women to stand up for their rights and men to accept women as their equals.”

The story revolves around Sara (Mahira Khan) who is happily married to Aami (Haroon Shahid) until their lives fall apart when they are faced with some extraordinary circumstances.

Other highly anticipated films, for example, Nadeem Baig’s Punjab Nahi Jaungi and Nabeel Qureshi’s Na Maloom Afraad 2, released this Eid ul Azha have been running quite successfully in cinemas, whereas two i.e. Rangreza and Chupan Chupai are currently under production.

The film’s official poster that came out recently features a resolute Mahira Khan whose expression is enough for us to keep waiting for the release of the film. We can easily say that this movie does seem quite different from her previous offerings.

Not unexpectedly, the poster of this film was received positively by fans and celebrities alike.

Given the love and appreciation shown for Verna, we hope the film lives up to expectations.

Verna is all set to release on 17th November 2017, worldwide.
