LAHORE: Ulema from all schools of thought have played an admirable role for maintaining peace and sectarian harmony during Ashura-e-Muharram.

Punjab Minister for Local Government Manshullah Butt stated this while addressing a meeting here on Monday.

He said that it had been proved once again that followers of all schools of Islamic thought were peace lovers.

He thanked all those who contributed towards maintaining peace and said that the government would continue its efforts for achieving improved standards of law and order in the province.

He said: “Coordination between religious leaders and administrations of various districts and tehsils in the province proved key for the success. Same would continue in future”.
